A Baby Shower, Crawling and the High Chair

This past Saturday, Abigail and I went to a baby shower for my cousin Johnny and his wife, Amanda.

Chelsey and Bonnie did an excellent job hosting the shower!
Chelsey made these amazing cake pops and cute rosette decorations, along with tons of other stuff.  She is super talented and a great Mom.

Abigail enjoyed hanging out with all the ladies!

Amanda, the Mom-To-Be, is due in about 4 weeks with her own lil' princess, Daisy Marie.

My cousin, Bonnie (above), is expecting her own bundle of joy in July!

Abigail and Lacey. She loved drooling all over this celery stick...Abigail, not Lacey. :)

This Amanda, my sister, is almost halfway to the finish line too.
Her lil' princess, Molli Grace, will be here at the end of July.

After the shower, Abigail practiced her crawling skills.

After working hard, she just wanted to sit and play/laugh at Daisy.

In other exciting news....we FINALLY have a high chair!!
I have no idea WHY but I was determined to find an all wood, "old-school" style high chair. After many hours of searching antique and thrift shops, we finally found a new unfinished version at a local wood store. Of course this meant that Jan would have to finish it himself but I had complete confidence that he could/would.

The high chair we ordered.

Jan making me happy.

The finished product!

I love it!
It is exactly what I wanted,
just like Abigail!

Weekend Recap

I was totally lazy by the time Friday evening came around.
I didn't cook - we ate Zaxby's.
I didn't clean - I figured it would be pointless with all the rain coming on Saturday.

So we spent the evening on the floor playing and it was fabulous!

We were up bright and early Saturday as usual.
I played tennis at Noon before the rain started and then I went grocery shopping.

Jan and Abigail enjoyed some quality Daddy/Daughter time - can't you tell?!?!!

After making tons of baby food that afternoon (lima beans, corn and green beans), I managed to finally get dinner prepared and Jan started a fire.

Abigail was mesmerized!

Goodness, I love this child!

Jodi and her family came over for dinner and game night.

We played Pictionary.
I have mad skillz at drawing (see below).

I bet you guessed the right answer immediately...
at least Rayven did...
and everyone wondered how!?!?
P.S. The correct answer was Top Gun.

We ventured out for breakfast Sunday morning and then spent several hours riding around town looking at various places and things.
After a quick afternoon nap, Jan and I joined forces to get the house cleaned quickly and then cooked dinner. We ended our weekend on a sweet note with homemade brownie bites from this machine...a fun Christmas gift from Hunny...yummy!
