Cinco ~ no drinko ~ de Mayo

Last weekend, Jan and I went to Atlanta to attend the fabulous McCollum's Cinco - no drinko- de Mayo Party. While this may not sound like a fun party for some, it was a great party for us (in our current state).

Hanging out with Daddy

I felt a little bad for Abigail - she doesn't walk yet, so she couldn't run around with all the other kids - but she had a blast just hanging out and taking it all in.

There was some drinking - the guys played several games of beer pong.

Trey and Erin brought over this jumping house for the kids - and let me just say, it was fantastic. We may or may not have already purchased one for ourselves!

Lots of kids + unlimited chips and cheese dip + tons of Mexican food + hanging out with other Mom friends = one fabulous time. Who needs Margaritas or Coronas when you have all this??

The sober ladies. I'm not sure if I've ever been around so many preggo women. It was crazy!

From left to right:

Brittany - not preggers but currently training for a swimsuit competition, so she's on a strict diet with obviously no alcohol allowed. She's our inspiration.

Jennie - preggers with her 3rd. She's one brave lady, and a very patient mother and fabulous host.

Stacy - preggers with her 1st. We wish her the very best.

Erin - Mom of two little boys. Erin did indulge in a few Coronas, after all she was the only female who could drink!

Me - preggers with my 2nd.

Jackie (not pictured) - preggers with her 2nd & 3rd. Come September she will have 3 boys!

I can't imagine this party in two years, with all the new additions running around. It will be pure chaos! Maybe the ladies will play beer pong while the guys chase the kids, ha!

Baby Friends

Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. ~Author Unknown

Jan and I are very lucky to have friends in the same 'season' of life as us. Two years ago, Ashley, Eva and I would have been tossing back wine and gossiping on this couch but here we are holding our hearts in our laps (except Eva and I have switched children here, ha).

Introducing Isabelle Arden Druica.

She is so tiny and so precious! Ashley and Razvan are settling into parenthood nicely and we look forward to watching Isabelle grow. Abigail is super jealous of all her hair!

These kids are going to have so much fun running around one day! Our BBQs will definitely be different (no beer pong) but still so much fun!

Letters to Abigail: Happy Ten Months!!

Dear Abigail,

You are quickly outgrowing the 'infant' stage and before long, you will be my lil' toddler. You are a busy body and keep us on our toes!

While taking these photos, you only wanted to take the sticker OFF and I only wanted the sticker to stay ON - it's only the beginning! Your personality is so fun and I love getting to know you better every day.

You're still a big, healthy baby. You LOVE food and eat, eat, eat. Lately, it has become difficult for Daddy and I to eat in front of you because you yell at us to share - even if you have already eaten! You want a piece or bite of everything - you are so curious!

You are wearing a size 4 diaper, size 12-18 month clothes and size 4 shoe. You have your Daddy's feet too - chubby - but they are super cute! You still have very little hair, although it has gotten a little thicker.

Your favorite toys are still cell phones and remotes. You also love the ipad and love to FaceTime and Skype. You know exactly what to do! I gave you an old cell phone of mine and you pretend to talk on it all the time. It's pretty cute.

You crawl everywhere and are really fast. You will walk behind your push toys but you aren't walking independently yet. You seem a little hesitant to try but I'm okay with that for now. You've grown too quickly.

You interact more and more with Daisy. You pull up on her, pull her ears and give her hugs. She's very patient with you and you think she's hysterical. You love to watch her drink water and eat - and she loves when you throw puffs on the floor!

We are still trying to teach you NO. I think you understand us fine but pretend like you don't. The hardest part is when you smile really big at us when we say NO - I just can't keep it together and laugh. I guess we are both in training.

You're still a fantastic sleeper and you use every bit of your crib. Every time I check on you, you are in a different position.

I am so proud to be your mommy. You are not only beautiful on the outside but you are a very sweet, happy baby too. You've made motherhood such a blessing...and so easy. I look forward to everyday with you. It just keeps getting better and better.

Happy 10 Months, Abigail! We love you so much.

Love,
Mommy & Daddy
