Abigail Meets Santa

Abigail met Santa for the first time last Saturday.
She wasn't scared at all!

She has yet to develop "stranger danger."

She did pull his beard a few times...sorry, Santa!

The Greeff Family + Santa

I was really hoping to capture a great family picture too,
but we couldn't coax a smile out of Abigail.

And while we were there, a local newspaper photographer was trying to get a few shots for an article. He asked us if he could use the picture and we provided him Abigail's name and age. Monday morning Abigail graced the cover of the local section of the area paper. Below is the high resolution picture that was featured.

I love it!
To me, it truly captures the innocence of a child meeting Santa for the first time.

I know I am biased but she is the most beautiful, amazing child in the whole world.

LOVE HER!!

Christmas: Numero Uno!

Since we will not be stateside for Christmas, Abigail experienced her "1st Christmas" with my parents yesterday.

We introduced her to Elmo...

She's wasn't too sure...

And we quickly realized, she is NOT a fan.

This bear was more her speed.

She waited in anticipation...

And loved all her gifts...

Even the tissue paper.

Willy the worm...

Lots of toys!

Posing with Grandma and Grandpa...this picture cracks me up because she's holding up one finger and has a look on her face like, "Hold on one second Daddy, I'm not ready!"

And now she is ready! But still no smiles...the gift opening exhausted her.

We put Abigail down for a nap and went to watch Jan play with his new toy.

Mom and I obviously couldn't keep our balance outside...like Mother, like Daughter.

Later, we went across the lake to visit Meme.

It was a wonderful time! I am so in love with this child and she amazes me everyday! For many years, I have looked forward to celebrating Christmas with my children and it is fabulous!! Having a child makes it so much more fun!!!!

Foto Friday...and other stuff!

First, congratulations to my brother, Chad, for graduating from college today. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Georgia Southern University...no easy feat! We are extremely proud of him and wish him the best! Unfortunately, we could not attend the ceremony due to work, but I did watch him walk across the stage via my computer. Go, Chad!

Abigail is still "teething" but we have no "tooth" yet. I check her mouth every morning expecting to find something new, but alas, nothing. Hopefully baby girl with have teeth (and hair) soon, ha!

She decided the "teether" worked better as an anklet.

Feet are "teethers" too!

My perfectly beautiful angel.

We picked a small (but perfectly shaped) Christmas tree this year. And yes, I'm still a fan of colored lights on the tree. It reminds me of Christmas as a child and I'll probably never change.

Happy 3rd birthday, Daisy, Mack and Lola!! You guys are full of unconditional love and happiness.

And finally, I can't believe it's been 4 years. You are missing so much...and missed so much.

Party Time!

Unlike most, my company still sponsors a very nice Christmas party...awesome venue, open top-shelf bar, amazing food, live band, etc.

Jan and I loved the excuse to get dressed up and have a date!

We had a blast and stayed out really late!! Thankfully my parents watched Abigail overnight.

This is my friend, Mike. He always dresses-up in character and was Tiny Tim this year...more like, NOT-SO Tiny Tim though!

We also attended a family Christmas party Saturday night, but I managed to forget my camera and have no pictures. :(

And because everyone probably prefers to see pictures of Abigail rather than us, here is my lil' angel. She is getting SO big!

Lately

Holy blog neglect...life has been crazy lately! The holidays only add more chaos to an already full schedule. We've been busy with holiday parties, shopping and decorating. I honestly think I have felt more stress and pressure the past two weeks than ever before. There is just not enough time to get everything done! I keep hoping that little elves will come to cut my hair, paint my toenails, do the laundry and finish my shopping while I sleep, ha!

We did manage to get a tree...and FINALLY decorated it! Abigail is really intrigued. She likes the bright lights and fun ornaments. I told Jan that this may be the last year we can decorate the entire tree - I imagine only the top half will be feasible next year with little exploring hands around.

We quickly switched from Thanksgiving clothes to Christmas outfits. I am so thankful that my Mother is able to pick up cute things all the time otherwise my child would wear the same thing over and over simply because I never have any time to shop (which is why I wear the same things over and over, haha).

We went to my sister, Brooke's, art show this past weekend. She has been an Art major at CSU and is graduating next week. Brooke's project was a series of photos taken and edited on her iPhone. Congrats, Snocky!

Abigail enjoyed some time with her Honey, who was in town for the art show, and cousin Sydney too. Of course, by the end of the night she was extremely tired and ready for bed, hence the tired, crying face (and it was only 7:00 pm).

Enjoying this princess is always at the top of my to-do list and maybe why other things (ie my haircut) never get accomplished. Balancing life (professional, wife, mother, friend, etc) is definitely a challenge...especially when you're type A and OCD!

I hope everyone else is surviving the holidays! Our BIG trip is looming over me but we are getting very excited. I cannot wait to RELAX!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2011

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed celebrating it with Abigail for the first time! Our weekend in pictures...

Thanksgiving Eve!
Abigail looks too cute in her new boots and GA chair.

Thanksgiving Day!
Playing with Daddy and the prettiest little turkey around.
I failed to get a family picture...I guess the wonderful buffet of food distracted me!

Friday!
Family day and helping Mommy supervise while Daddy hangs the Christmas lights.

Saturday!
Adult day at the Iron Bowl and Abigail's day with her grandparents.

My brothers showing their full support.
Per my SIL, they are not a house divided but a house of compromise.

However, we were still representing with the GA tent!

Sunday!
Another family day and teaching Abigail to eat from a spoon.

But she wasn't getting it fast enough!
